The rules
- The animal travels for a fee, at the carrier's rate.
- Small animals and birds travel in a cage.
- Carry the documents issued by the veterinary service.
- The animal can travel in the cabin if other passengers have no well-founded objections.
On an international departure
For an international departure, the veterinary documents are those of the country the animal leaves from. The country you enter may also require a microchip, a rabies vaccination or a health certificate; check its requirements before you buy the ticket.
Information on veterinary documents in the Republic of Moldova is available from the National Food Safety Agency.
Ask beforehand
Not every coach has room for a large cage. Before you buy, call the carrier and say which animal you are bringing and how big the cage is.
